Mock Data Generator

Generate realistic test data with configurable fields. Export as JSON or CSV. Everything runs in your browser — no data sent anywhere.

About This Tool

Mock data generation is a fundamental part of the software development lifecycle. Whether you're building a new UI prototype, writing integration tests, populating a development database, or creating a demo for stakeholders, realistic test data saves time and catches bugs that uniform or obviously fake data misses.

Good mock data has several properties: it matches the shape and constraints of real data (valid email formats, realistic price ranges, properly formatted phone numbers), it has enough variety to expose edge cases (long names, international characters, boundary values), and it's deterministic enough to reproduce bugs when needed.

Common use cases include seeding development databases, generating fixtures for unit and integration tests, creating realistic screenshots and demos for product reviews, stress-testing pagination and infinite scroll implementations, and validating data pipelines and ETL processes. Having a client-side generator means your test data never leaves your machine — important when working with schemas that mirror sensitive production data structures.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of mock data can I generate?
This tool supports over 20 field types including UUIDs, names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, dates, booleans, numbers, prices, IP addresses, colors, URLs, product names, categories, and order statuses. You can mix and match any combination of fields.
Is the generated data truly random?
The data is pseudo-random, generated using JavaScript's Math.random(). It draws from curated pools of realistic values (50+ first names, 50+ last names, 30 cities, 20 countries, etc.) so the output looks realistic. It is not cryptographically random and should not be used for security purposes.
Can I use this data in production?
This data is designed for development, testing, prototyping, and demos. While all names and addresses are fictional combinations, you should not use generated email addresses for real communication. The data does not correspond to real individuals.
How much data can I generate?
You can generate up to 1,000 rows at a time. Since everything runs in your browser, very large datasets may take a moment to render. For best performance with large datasets, use the download feature rather than copying from the preview.
